Reading Week So Far…

Saturday, I went to see the Mayan exhibit at the ROM, which was pretty cool. I got off at Museum station, which is obviously the best station aesthetically. I also saw the Ancient Civilizations (Greece, Rome, & Egypt) exhibits, Dinosaurs, Animals, and then I ran through the Ancient China one before I got kicked out as they were closing. They also had a wedding in there. The bride look very pretty, but I wouldn’t have chosen her dress. They took pictures infront of the giant T-Rex. They had the main floor roped off with all the tables and chairs. I think that would have been a cool place for a wedding. Then I walked over to Insomnia for dinner, which I’ve never been to before but it was recommended to me. It was actually really good. I also ate the entire plate, which is unheard of for me, but the portion sizes were not huge. I had the seafood linguine, and it was so yummy. They also had a giant menu of drinks, so I had to try one of them. I got a martini called X-Rated Vacation, and it tasted citrus-y and it was delicious. Then I went to go see A Separation. The evening show was sold out, so I had to wait for the late, and I stalled my time by reading my own book in Indigo. Movie was excellent. Though I was quite drowsy at the beginning, and will probably need to find a stream to rewatch soon, I got into it when the case was all unfolding and they were all yelling at each other. Then I jumped on the Bloor subway and played solitaire on my ipod until we got back to Downsview. Longest ride ever at 1am. Halfway through this dude came over and scared the crap out of me. He got right in my face, and touched my knee, and said really loudly: “THANK YOU FOR EXISTING!” and walked away. I almost had a heartattack. I was so unprepared. They guy across from me was not too pleased either. It really freaked me out for those seconds, but now it’s kinda hilarious.

Yesterday, I went in to the Apple Store at Yorkdale to get my Mac checked out. Obviously, I’m trying to open a bottle on Friday night and doesn’t a little bit splash on my keyboard? Ever since then, it got really laggy and slow and hard at multi-tasking, so I brought it in. They couldn’t find anything, but recommended that I just restart the system. Of course when I get back, everything works fine. Go me. I also ended up ordering the combat boots I wanted from Aldo, as they were on sale and fit so awesomely. I also got some Chinese to eat while I watched the Oscars. I really liked the Cirque du Soleil performance. I thought all the acting and best picture winners were predictable, though I really did enjoy The Artist. Then I watched some more Project Runway and trolled the internet for photos from the Vanity Fair party. I ended up finding a few after I woke up and updated my site. Then Kaya Scodelario tweeted one of my photos and I’m freaking out. I really hope she follows the site’s twitter one day. But yeah, so far it’s been going pretty well. I also caught a glimpse of people from the basement apartment. I hear their voices, music, video games, microwave, everything all the time and yet I never have seen their faces. It was really weird.
